East Kentucky Youth Bags His First Deer!

Printer-Friendly Format

This is exactly what I am looking for! I want to thank Karen Richmond for sending me this story of her son taking his first deer. These are the kind of stories I am looking for to pass along to our viewers. Don't hesitate to send me any of your hunting stories; we all love to read about kids and their hunting experiences. As parents, this is what we wait on for many years and hours of hard work. That is to capture our Childs first deer, rabbit, turkey or whatever it is. Pictures like these will always find their way to the top of the pile. I would like to congratulate Chase on a very nice job and also thank Karen again for sending us this story. It is truly awesome to have parents support their kids in all they do especially when it comes to youth hunting and the out doors. Keep "Preserving the Family Tradition of Hunting" Richmond family.

Here is what Karen had to say about the hunt.

"This is Chase. He was 10 then, going to be 11 on Mon. He used a 243. He killed it up our hollow in Van Lear, up behind mom and dads. He was thrilled to death and wanted to mount it. I, of course, told him he had to wait until it had big horns. He has been hunting for the last couple of years and has never killed one and was disappointed every time he came home without one. The 1st thing he wanted to do was to call my dad and tell him all about it. He was very proud and so was his sister. Hunting and fishing is definitely in his blood!"
